Teaching Life Lessons Through Sport
Pittsburgh Passion Women’s Football
Organizational Philosophy

It is our belief that the participation in a sport provides the opportunity to cultivate core character values and share the wonderful lessons taught when people learn their meanings first hand.

Teamwork. Commitment. Responsibility. Leadership. Integrity. Sacrifice. Hard Work. Loyalty. Dedication. Faith. Courage.

The qualities for building a successful sports team are very much the same ingredients necessary for building any successful community, corporation, family, or friendship. It is our mission and hope to inspire others to build such great foundations and become a great member of any team they are blessed to find in life.

Pittsburgh Passion Women’s Football is the most widely recognized women’s full-contact football franchise in the world. Winner of a National Championship and four Divisional Championships. But no dream happens overnight. Through friendship, faith, kindness, and diligence, the Passion flourished.

At our beginning in 2002, we had no indoor practice facility. We practiced outside under the bridges through one of the coldest winters in Pittsburgh history. We shoveled snow and used car headlights to light the fields. Through hardships and obstacles, lifetime friendship formed. And a future began. The evolution of Passion Football has become a business model in women’s sports. Here is a look at some of the highlights:
